Recording an Expense with multiple line items in Xero - Vodafone Mobile Bill
Teaching kids about recording a bill that has multiple line items into Xero as an Expense bill to pay.
What did I want to do?
- I wanted my kids Ash (12 years old) and Adh (10 years old) to record a new Bill to Pay (expense) from scratch in Xero for an expense that had multiple line items.
- We will record a bill from Vodafone with multiple line items.
- We had already recorded the below types of payments we had made:
Overview of the Vodafone bill
Below is what the bill looks like
A couple of observations:
- The total amount is $104.49.
- There are two items:
- Large Sim Only Plan for $68.99
- Roaming Talk (9 calls, 30 min 42sec) for $35.50. This also has a << symbol next to it.
- At the bottom right-hand corner is a note that << means GST free.
- This means:
- Large Sim Only Plan of $68.99 includes a GST charge
- Roam Talk of $35.50 does NOT include a GST charge.
